A gift registry is essentially a list of preferred gift items for a particular occasion or event that is curated by the intended recipients of the gifts, e.g. brides, mothers-to-be or new homeowners! There are gift registries now available online and they are popular as they take the guesswork out of buying gifts and to prevent double purchases by guests. 

How does it work? 

Recipients will create a list and select desired items that can be chosen from a merchant or from a mix of merchants. This list is then made available for guests, if they choose to 

selecting items from store stock, the couple lists desired items and files this list with the chosen merchant.
