How to make your home smelling good at all times?

Every place has a unique scent, whether at home or in commercial spaces. And often, we wonder of what are the ways do the people maintaining the place do to create the place smelling good (at all times)?

We have listed the ways you can fragrance your home – whether with store-bought products or DIYs. Hence, in the many ways to tackling smelly odors from kitchen (such as from the overflowing trash cans) to dirty laundry and pet messes on the rugs.

Take out your trash + remove the odor of your trash can daily

Having a combination of odors from food scraps and other garbage will create an unpleasant smell to your garbage bins. And later we find out that the trash can itself smells the absolute worst. Remove the garbage from your trash can every end of the day.

We recommend also adding a deodorizing pod, below the trash bag and spray with a disinfecting spray on the trash to kill the bacteria.

Scatter scented candles around the house

Scented candles are great options to instantly freshen up your home with an aroma you love. But are you placing the candles strategically in your home? Your candles can freshen up a room even without you lighting them, place it in corners or closely tight places, such as your wardrobe.

Simmer homemade scents on the stove

Regularly refresh your carpets/rugs

Rugs absorb odors unlike any other floorings, e.g. tile and hardwood floors. Odors can easily be from pet messes, food spills or stinky feet. You can easily freshen up your rugs by sprinkling baking soda all around the rugs and let sit for a few hours then vacuum. Alternatively, this method can also be applied on beddings if you want to freshen up your bed instantly.

Plants work wonders indoor too!

Indoor plants not only beautify the home but it helps clean the air too! Some of the indoor plants that are perfect for the indoors include:

  • Eucalyptus
  • Lavender
  • Jasmine
  • Spearmint
  • Rosemary

Have an air purifier and (also) a humidifier

Air purifier helps clear up odors and improve the quality of air in your home. Having a humidifier is also great to scintillate the home with your favorite aromas from the essential oil. We recommend placing a humidifier at the entrance, living room, bedrooms and any active rooms you regularly use.

Clean up your sink

Do you find any lingering odor in the kitchen or your bathroom? Our best advice is to check your sinks and if you smell any lingering odor, spritz your dish soap or squeeze half a lemon in the sink. Additionally, you can add about ¼ to ½ cup of baking soda with running warm water.
