7 Essential Elements of a Home Office Design

Achieving good productivity is very challenging especially when it comes to moving your regular regime of working in the office to working from home. Find here the different elements that structure your home office!

1. Location

Ideally, you’ll have a room in your home that you can dedicate as your personal office. This can be a spare bedroom or another room that isn’t really getting used

If you can’t dedicate an entire room as an office area, you can then use a corner in a room where it can fit your desk and chair. This can be in your living room, bedroom or even near your entryway.

2. Color

Color is an important aspect to the room! Having a wrong color in the room can have a negative effect and can hinder productivity. It’s important to pay attention to your personal color needs.

If you need a bright cheery color to keep you upbeat and engaged, opt for orange or red accents. If you prefer a calmer environment, apply a neutral color and with a touch of greens.

3. Office Chair

A proper office chair is key. Choose a chair that fits your body and promote proper posture while working.

If you care more of the looks of the chair, you can opt for a chair that looks more casual that can be used in other parts for your home too (not just the personal office).

4. Desk

Just like the office chair, you will need to like sitting at your desk! Find a desk that is widely sized for your daily work and optimal to fit all the stuffs you need, e.g. your laptop, your notebook, etc.

5. Light

To improve concentration and eyestrain, it’s important to adjust your light. You can ensure so by having your personal office with a room filled with natural light and installing optimal lighting in the room. Additionally, add a table lamp on desk.

6. Art

Having art in your office will inspire your creativity and to motivate you to get your work done quickly. Art pieces can range from photographs, framed art, to even sculptures.

7. Organization

If your work requires more online and less of paperwork, then you’ll probably need just a compact organizational system. This can be done with a simple magazine rack or a book holder on the desk. Or easily, you can opt for a mobile drawer that can be stored under the desk.
